Let’s face it people – this whole world is in a big mess. We have corruption, tragedies, crime, political battles, power seeking people, etc, everywhere! Obama winning the Nobel Peace prize (to answer the original question) just reflects the committee’s choice. It’s done, period. The people who are truly doing peace efforts are not in it for the “prize” anyway. They are in it for the “peace”. They receive their “prize” in a whole different place than from humans. We just have to have faith in whatever it is that we choose to have faith in. Personally, my choice is God.
maybe the committee thought obama is the best chance of an Am. pres. who does not believe in invading everyone else’s country. reagan murdered many innocents in s. am. and c. am. bushes did same in middle east. Clinten tried to interest congress in helping out in former yugoslavia but congress, as usual, was more interested in deleting any rules/regs from corps. that may have averted disasters like the gulf and in any scandal–monica l.–that might bring down the presidency so repubs could retake it. they are the biggest hypocrites who talk rhetoric about family values but have only hate and seem bent on bringing about a civil war in the u.s.
Wow, the Obama zombies are out in force! What mindless drivel from obviously young and deluded minds. To view the latest “Nobel Peace Prize” as anything but a meaningless PC instrument for sale to the highest bidder is to have no understanding what true world impact involves. And, to give you a clue, 6 weeks into a presidency and having nothing but some vague idea of what he’d like a utopian world order to look like, catch phrases like, “Yes, we can” and community leadership is not an impact, it’s a continuation of his typical campaign speech.
